Job Description

Anticpated Position, Description and Responsibilities:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There is an anticipated opening for a School Psychologist Intern for the 2019-2020 school year in the Hornell City School District. Interns will be offered the opportunity to work in different types of school environments with a wide range of student populations (i.e. elementary, middle and high school; low incident populations, students with disabilities).

Skills required include the assessment of cognitive, academic and socio-emotional functioning, individual and group counseling, and consultation with teachers and other educational professionals. Familiarity with conducting a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and creating/implementing a Behavioral Intervention Plan (BIP) is also required. Other opportunities exist for interns to take part in building level and district level teams, including pre-referral teams and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) teams. 

Interns will be provided with consistent support, training and supervision by a certified and licensed psychologist. Supervision for doctoral level candidates is available.

Job Qualifications

 

Job Qualifications:

Completion of appropriate coursework and practicum in a NASP accredited school psychology program.

 

Position Effective:

Full-time hours will begin September 3, 2019; however, there is flexibility to include some hours from July 1 to August 30, 2019 if necessary.
